1930 Reo custom-built Fire Truck

The Polo Fire Protection District is operated by an elected board of five trustees. The district is funded by taxes collected through County Property Taxes. The district operates a volunteer fire department and a paramedic level ambulance service which is staffed and managed by CGH Emergency Services. Protecting the City of Polo, Illinois and the Townships of Buffalo, Brookeville, Eagle Point, Grand Detour, Lincoln, Pine Creek, and Woosung in an area approximately 144 square miles within the counties of Ogle, Lee, Whiteside, and Carroll. The fire departments staff consists of seven officers, and twenty firefighters. The department currently has seven trucks in operation.
