Rahn Elementary School - Mt. Morris

2/12/2004- Polo Fire Department was requested for mutual aid to respond with an Engine 5802 and a Chief 5893 on the 2nd Alarm of this fire. During a 5th Alarm request for Tankers the Polo Fire Department responded with 5874 and 5873. The incident reached a total of 10 Alarms which included all companies of MABAS Division 18 and an Inter-Divisional Box from MABAS Division 8. A total of 50 fire departments, 75 fire apparatus and approximately 175 firefighters responded from six counties. All the students and staff escaped safely that day but sadly the school was a total loss.
